E-cigs are taking off! Year to year, electronic cigarettes are becoming more popular all the time. As a seller of e-cig products, it is good to understand the termonology used to define this new technology. We have compiled a list below of some of the most common and important electronic cigarette terms to know.

E-Cigarette Glossary:

Atomizer (sometimes called a cartomizer): an element that uses electricity to heat liquid, creating vapor. (Common abbreviation: Atty)

Blister Pack: a combination of e-cig equipment that comes prepackaged together ("blister" refers to the plastic covering the cardboard backing): usually an atomizer, battery, and charger.

Cartridge: a plastic container used to hold e-cigarette liquid.

Cartomizer:(sometimes called an atomizer or clearomizer): A unit that combines an atomizer and a cartridge; usually will hold more juice than a cartridge.

Clearomizer: synonomous with cartomizer and/or atomizer.

E-Cig: An abbreviation of electronic cigarette.

E-Hookah: A synonym for electronic cigarette; often is used to refer to a nicotine-free e-cig, many of which are disposable.

E-Hose: Starbuzz's unique take on the e-hookah, modelled after an actual hookah hose. Monster clouds!

E-Juice: One of many terms used to define the liquid used to fill e-cigarettes. Other synonyms: e-liquid, liquid, juice, e-cig juice.

Flavor Tank: Synonym for cartomizer

Hookah Pen: Another common term used to describe e-hookahs and e-cigarettes.

Leaking: When e-juice leaks out of the cartomizer. The best way to avoid this is to be careful to not over-fill your flavor tank. (There should be a "fill to" line printed on it).

mAh: Milli-amp hours. E-cig batteries are rated in mAh. 650 mAh = roughly 6 hours of battery time. A 900 mAh will last about 8 1/4 hours

Propylene Glycol (PG): One of two ingredients (VG is the other) that comprise most of an e-liquid. PG allows liquids to vaporize at a lower temperature. Some people have adverse reactions to PG, or believe that it isn't healthy. Because of this some manufacturers only use VG in their e-juice.

Starter Kit: Basically the same as a Blister Pack, with the addition of an e-liquid; basically, everything one would need to start vaping. Throat Hit: The tingling sensation caused by nicotine when it contacts the throat. PG and the nicotine level of an e-liquid contribute to the level of "throat hit".

Vape: One smokes a cigarette, whereas one vapes an e-cig.

Vaping: the act of creating vapor clouds via the use of an electronic cigarette.

Vegetable Glycerin (VG): VG is usually the main ingredient of any e-liquid, and is what creates vapor when heated by an atomizer. Many e-juices are a blend of VG and PG.

Wick: A slender polymer used to transfer e-liquid to an atomizer.
